Question on Slope Intercept Form

Topic : Slope Intercept Form

Question : Find the slope of 4x+3y = 6.

Solution :
Slope intercept form of an equation is y = mx +b,
Where ‘m’ is the slope and ‘b’ is the y intercept.
To find the slope of the given equation, it should be in the standard form...
Implies 3y = -4x+6
Dividing by 3 on both sides we get:
3y = -4x + 6
3 3 3
.. y = -4x/3 + 2.
Comparing the above equation with standard form
Slope m = -4/3 and b = 2.
